Lis Macdonald has been a watermedia artist for 25 years and is active in the Napa Valley Art Association and has participated in Open Studios for the past six years. She has received numerous awards over the years from the Art Association( Artist of the year 2006 and 2018), the Napa County Fair (2nd place, 2016) and Napa Valley Expo (2nd place, 2016), as well as several other awards from the San Diego Watercolor Society, and the San Diego County Fair prior to 2001.
Primarily self-taught she has taken numerous workshops and classes taken from well-known artists such as Dale Laitinen. Robbie Laird, Mel Stabin, Stephen Quiller, Nita Engle and Tony Couch and many others. She also has taken college courses on color theory, drawing and design.
