Watercolor Artist
Lis MacDonald is a self-taught artist for past 25+ years, preferring watercolors, but has also used acrylics, casein and collage. She has taken many workshops from artists she admired as well as numerous college level art classes. She continues with her education during the pandemic via Zoom watercolor classes and workshops.
She was selected as the solo exhibiting artist at the Napa County Library for March 2018, showing both alcohol ink paintings and watercolor dog portraits of Napa County Animal Shelter dogs.
Her portfolio also includes land- and seascapes and urban scenes.
She has earned numerous awards over the years at various shows/exhibitions as well as artist of the year for the Napa Valley Art Association twice. Her painting “FOGGY, RAINY SAN FRANCISCO” got selected into the California Watercolor Association National Show in 2021, juried by Frank Webb.
